175,000 children in the UK are reported missing to the police every year in the UK. 890,000 children in the US are reported missing to the police every year in the U.S. The technology exists that would prevent this but for various reasons a universally adopted solution does not currently exist. Orbitwear is a modular and customisable smart device designed to be worn in several ways depending on the wearers preference.
Desirable by Design
The only options currently available on the market are either cumbersome and expensive watches or forgettable and unwearable tags. For a product in this space to truly work, it needs to be desirable to children. By approaching the product in this way, Orbitwear doesn’t need features to make it appeal, drastically reducing production costs and improving battery life.
